  • Kastellet is one of the best preserved fortifications in Northern Europe. It is an active military area as well as a public park. In 1800, a total of 16 windmills were found on the ramparts of Copenhagen. The mill in Kastellet is the last that is still working.

  • A long since abandoned house at Ashcroft Ghost Town, once a thriving mining town in Castle Creek Valley near Aspen, Colorado. Founded in 1880, there was once such a mining boom there that the town had 2,500 residents, two newspapers, a school, saw mill and 20 saloons. The town dwindled as the mines played out, and by 1900, there were only two people left. Ashcroft has since become a National Register Historic Site preserved by the Aspen Historical Society.
